Design by David Regestam
A gradient glass, clear downwards and transient to opaque, directs the majority of the light downwards while also distributing the light inside of the spun bowl.
With the bowl acting as a reflector and creating a diffuse light, the larger lit surface also counteracts glare.

Inspired by a type of stars called novas, often bright white dwarves.
As a means of counteracting glare, a transient glass that goes from opaque to clear is utilized with the surrounding shade working as a reflector with the dual task of minimizing too harsh transitions of light.
