Erik Gunnar Asplund (1885 - 1940) has been the key influence in creating what we today consider as Scandinavian architecture and design.

With a holistic perspective his architecture resembles that of a Gesamtkunstwerk - a common denominator in his works is the care for details as part of the big picture.

The products featured in the GA-collection were originally designed for some of Asplunds most noteworthy projects, namely The Gothenburg Cityhall and The Woodland Cemetary.

The products featured in the GA-collection were originally designed for some of Asplunds most noteworthy projects, including the extension of the Gothenburg City Hall and The Woodland Cemetery.

The extension of the Gothenburg City Hall, a work initiated in 1913 and finished 1937 - shows his transformation from neo-classical to functionalist architect.

The Woodland Cemetery, today a UNESCO world heritage site, was initiated together with architect Sigurd Lewerentz and is by many considered his finest work and one of the masterpieces of modern architecture.
